TVIA’s President’s Message June 2011
Village Remembrances and Reflections
Gary Standley TVIA President
There have been many tragic losses in the Village this past
year and each loss touched us all. For those families that were directly affected, this year’s Village Voice Newsletter
is dedicated to the memory of your loved ones. I would especially like to acknowledge the passing of perennial TVIA
members Charlie Dillard, Bernice Dimmick, and Patricia Goldman. We will miss them, but their contributions to the betterment
of our beloved Village will live on.
It has been my pleasure to have been your TVIA president
for the past 6 years. After 31 years as “weekenders,” in March of 2005 my wife Nancy and I became permanent residents
here in the Village. I joined the TVIA when I became a property owner back in 1974. In the 1970’s the TVIA’s
$12 a year dues went towards such projects as eradication of the yellow star thistle and maintenance of the River Road and
gate. The goal of the Association was and continues to be the enhancement of the Village.
I want to thank the Trinity Village Improvement Association
membership for your continued support of TVIA’s efforts to promote the beautification, safety, and welfare of our Village
community. Your TVIA dues pay for the ongoing expenses for the River Gate keys, the Trinity Village Map/Community Board,
brush clearing (intersections, hydrants, signage), safety lighting, maintenance of the Trinity Village sign and planter, The
Village Voice Newsletter, The Village Voice web site <gotrinityvillage.com>, the Telephone Emergency Alert System, advertising
for the Annual Village Yard Sale, the Hawkins Bar Neighborhood Watch Program, the Cruiser’s maintenance, donations to
Burnt Ranch School, donations to the HBVFD, and the new Feral Cat Project.
Hundreds of hours went into the implementation of these
TVIA projects and programs. Volunteers continue to be needed to maintain them. We have a wealth of talented people
here. Consider volunteering your talent, expertise, and/or time for the betterment of the Village. Call me (629-2415)
or stop by the house to see what you can do or to discuss your ideas to enhance or improve our Village.
Plan to attend the Annual TVIA meeting on Saturday July
2nd at 11 a.m. at the Village Fire Hall. This is your opportunity to give input and help plan future TVIA projects and elect
officers and board members. Officers and board members do not need to be a full time residents. Think of nominating
someone or perhaps volunteering yourself to be an officer or board member. Meetings are every 3 months (July, October,
January, April) at 1 p.m. All Villagers are welcome to attend these meetings.
Remember that volunteerism is rewarding and plays a big
part in the continuing revitalization of Trinity Village.
Have a Happy and Safe Summer,
Gary
